Welcome to The Ahl in Collection. My name is Brooke Ahl, and my passion for crochet began as a pre-teen when my aunt first introduced me to the craft. For years, I focused on the basics, creating scarves for friends and family. In 2020, during a temporary layoff prompted by the pandemic, I took the opportunity to deepen my knowledge, exploring advanced stitches, techniques, and the nuances of reading crochet patterns—a skill that felt like learning a new language. That winter, I designed my store’s signature product: the Beverage Mitt. Inspired by evenings spent supporting friends at a local brewery—often outdoors in the cold—I created the Beverage Mitt to keep our hands warm while enjoying a cold drink. This practical and unique item quickly became my best seller, leading me to launch my Etsy shop.After five successful years on Etsy, I transitioned to selling my products full-time both online and at in-person markets. Why is our logo a cat?

Our most common question is: “Why does your logo have a cat in it if you don’t sell animal products exclusively?” Well, the answer is simple: I love cats so much, they are by far my favorite animal. My friends and family call me the crazy cat lady, not because I have a lot of cats, but because I will go out of my way to spend time with a cat, even if it means sitting in a mud puddle on the ground.
